Barter, partial fill and stale quote
Trade physical goods at an agreed regional depot.
Prerequisites: Multiplayer preparation, both players stationary in Hearthwake. B carries at least two rations; A carries at least four branches. Use /play → Market or browser Market & cargo. The example price is two branches per ration.
Step by step

01B posts the offer
B selects Post offer, item ration, quantity 2, price 2, payment branch. Review and commit.
Two rations leave B’s available bag and are escrowed in one open offer. No automated buyer fills it.
02A inspects a specific quote
A opens the offer and records its ID, current version, two-unit remaining stock, Hearthwake depot and price. Open a purchase review for one unit.
The review binds the chosen order and quoted version.
03A buys one unit
A commits one unit using the inspected version.
Two branches leave A’s bag and arrive at B’s Hearthwake depot. One ration becomes A’s property at the same depot, not immediately in A’s bag.
04Reject an old version
Using the old open review or direct /vesperan buy with the old version, attempt another one-unit purchase.
The changed quote is rejected. Neither a second payment nor a second transfer occurs.
05B cancels the remainder
B refreshes the offer and chooses Cancel remainder, or Cancel offer with its ID.
The unfilled ration returns to B’s Hearthwake depot. The already sold ration stays A’s property.
06Withdraw and reconcile
A withdraws the purchased ration locally; B withdraws their returned ration and received branches if desired.
The same total goods exist across the two bags, depots and completed trade. A player cannot buy their own offer or cancel the other player’s offer.
