Browser account and Discord linking

Use a single character in both interfaces without merging independent progress.

Prerequisites: access to the account browser and a Discord account that has not yet created a Vesperan character. If you have already used /play or /vesperan play, use the Existing character link rejection path instead. Existing independent characters are preserved.

Step by step

Tick a step after observing the expected result. Saved on this device only.

01Create the browser character first

At the operator-provided account browser choose Create an account. Enter a unique test login, a private password and a recognizable test character name, then choose Create character.

EXPECTED RESULT

The account opens at Return Court with no goods or coin.

02Make one visible change

In Explore visit the Common Depot. Record the displayed character name and location.

EXPECTED RESULT

The place becomes Common Depot; no resource grant is needed.

03Create a one-use code

Open Rules & registry and choose Create link code. Keep the code private and immediately submit /link code:<your code> in Discord.

EXPECTED RESULT

The command confirms the link. The code expires after ten minutes and is consumed after one successful link.

04Compare both interfaces

Run /play. Compare the name and Common Depot location with the browser. Visit another local place using Discord, then refresh the browser.

EXPECTED RESULT

Both clients display the same change on the same character.

05Reconnect

Sign out of the browser, sign in again, and reopen /play in Discord.

EXPECTED RESULT

The account and link persist; no duplicate arrival, inventory reset or second character appears.

06Reject reuse

Try the already consumed code once more in your test context.

EXPECTED RESULT

The code is rejected without changing either character. Never paste the code into a bug report.
