Earn a measured timber batch
Read the actual field observations and keep the batch identity.
Prerequisites: an idle character with a hatchet and at least one ration. Return to Hearthwake if needed, then take Sawyers’ Road to Westcut; its base walking time is nine minutes. High wind and depleted site capacity may legitimately block work. Record that condition and try when it changes.
This is a decision-quality test, not a supplied hidden solution. Use only the observations, objective and action hints visible to your character.

01Read the career and work terms
Open Professions and inspect Read and cut the stand. Choose Expert work. Select the woodcutting Retention objective if offered and focus Damping.
The form commits one actual field problem with a hatchet and one ration; the base work boundary is ten minutes.
02Commit and inspect custody
Confirm the action and inspect Reserved inputs and equipment.
The tool is reserved for this activity; the active ration is consumed. A second primary activity is unavailable.
03Work from disclosed observations
Read the displayed problem, choose an available observation action, then use the resulting grain/stress/support information and action hints for subsequent choices. Submit one current-turn action at a time.
Observations reveal the current problem progressively. Reopening the panel does not reroll the challenge.
04Separate decisions from output
Finish the challenge and record its quality and result. Check the bag before the displayed settlement boundary.
Finishing decisions alone does not create early logs. A low-quality outcome remains a legitimate result to report.
05Inspect the settled lot
After settlement, open Character & builds and inspect the timber’s origin. Record its batch ID, quantity, quality and nonzero properties privately.
A measured log lot has a stable identity, real maker/field ancestry and a property vector.
06Continue to manufacture
Carry at least two logs of the same selected lot to the Measured manufacture route. If this particular attempt produced fewer than two, earn another suitable batch and document the extra work.
A material quote must select stock actually available in the required quantity.
