Quote and manufacture exact planks

Verify reservation, timing and retained ancestry at the workbench.

Prerequisites: Expert timber produced at least two logs in one carried measured lot. The Mill cut planks recipe requires Milling level 1. Do not substitute a plain log stack when checking measured ancestry.

Step by step

Tick a step after observing the expected result. Saved on this device only.

01Select the exact stock

Open Workshop → Measured-batch workbench. Choose Mill cut planks, Batches 1, Process Preserve. In Batch for the log input, choose your measured timber lot.

EXPECTED RESULT

The selected quantity covers both required logs. The selection identifies the actual lot, not only its template.

02Preview twice

Choose Preview exact batch. Record the predicted quality, retained properties and seconds per batch. Repeat without changing the stock.

EXPECTED RESULT

The two quotes agree. Bag quantities remain unchanged because a quote reserves nothing; baseline preserve time for planks is 4 minutes 12 seconds before facility adjustment.

03Review and commit

Choose Review own manufacture. Inspect recipe, quantity, process and selected lot, then commit. On Discord use Work → Craft materials with the same selected input map and review it.

EXPECTED RESULT

The selected two logs move into the job reservation. No second job can claim them.

04Inspect output at the boundary

Wait for the quoted duration and refresh. Inspect the new planks’ origin.

EXPECTED RESULT

Two planks appear as a new measured batch. Their properties and quality match the committed quote, including its preservation loss.

05Follow ancestry

Inspect the plank batch’s recorded history and compare its consumed log ID with your private notes.

EXPECTED RESULT

The actual input lot remains in the ancestry. The finished plank is not labeled as a newly extracted natural material.

06Check a stale selection safely

Quote another recipe with expendable test stock, close the form, and store that stock before trying to commit the old selected input.

EXPECTED RESULT

Commitment rechecks custody and rejects unavailable stock; a past quote is not an inventory reservation.
