Repair, temper, conserve and salvage
Test repair, tempering and conservation; reproduce the known current salvage failure separately.
Prerequisites: an owned spare equipment item, appropriate earned enhancement materials and a repair kit if testing repair. The intended salvage operation consumes the selected item after it is fixed; use a deliberately expendable object and review its ID.
Known current failure in runtime 0.4.3: salvage encounters an internal recipe-identifier error before completing. The source audit identified this on the stone-hatchet path. Do not mark salvage as passing or assume salvage materials will be available for another path. The existing automated baseline does not certify this missing scenario.
Step by step
Tick a step after observing the expected result. Saved on this device only.
01Inspect the object
Use Inspect origin and note the individual ID, quality, condition, enhancement and sockets.
All following operations target this particular owned item.
02Repair actual wear
After a real encounter has worn the item below condition 100, carry one repair kit and choose Repair.
One kit is consumed and condition becomes 100. A pristine object is refused without consuming a kit.
03Temper one rank
Carry the displayed core and iron-bar inputs and choose Temper / Enhance while idle.
Rank one consumes one core and one iron bar. Later ranks consume their new rank count; the implemented cap is five.
04Conserve and return to use
In Journal use Set keepsake with the spare item and Conserve checked. Try Equip, then clear Conserve using the same action and equip again.
Conservation unbinds the object and blocks equipment use or consumption. Returning it to working use does not clone it.
05Reproduce the known salvage failure
While idle, unequip a spare owned stone hatchet, record its exact ID and current bag quantities, then inspect the Salvage form and attempt the commitment once. Record the displayed error; the operator may confirm the recipe-identifier error in restricted logs.
Current build: the operation fails before salvage completes. The original item must remain owned and unretired, with no salvage output created. Record the salvage result as Fail, even when that possession-preservation check passes. After a verified fix, the intended result is to retire the item once and produce only its supported salvage output and provenance, not a full ingredient refund.
06Verify preserved possessions and defer the retired-item check
Refresh Inventory after the failed attempt and compare the original item, quantity, condition, enhancement, sockets and other bag quantities with the baseline. After a later verified fix actually completes salvage, refresh again and try an old equipment review for the retired ID.
Current build: the failed attempt leaves the original possessions unchanged and available for their ordinary allowed use. After the fix: a successfully consumed object cannot be equipped or salvaged a second time, and any real socket contents remain accounted for. The post-fix assertions remain Not run until that build is tested.
