Wrong Bell: new observation and later depot visit
Check the ordering of personal evidence, a real return and one quest reward.
Prerequisites: a character that has completed A Place to Stand, has not accepted The Wrong Bell, is idle, and can travel between Hearthwake and Westcut. Do not reset an existing account or use a clock-advance or grant control. Old accepted editions keep their original objectives and are a separate compatibility test.
Perform this in the authorized testing server with the intended Vesperan application. Record the actual travel time, selected mode, carried supplies and character XP. Prepared travel spends one trail ration per departure. Walking requires no provisions. This is a recommended manual path; publication of the checklist is not evidence that every step has passed live.
Step by step
Tick a step after observing the expected result. Saved on this device for this version of the steps only.
01Record the starting state
Record location, inventory, XP and Journal. Check that The Wrong Bell has not already been accepted or completed.
An idle character with the introductory account complete; no edited save or granted supply.
02Travel and accept the account
Take Sawyers’ Road to Westcut and wait for the real journey to finish. Visit Venn Yard and use Journal → Accept quest → The Wrong Bell.
The first objective asks you to compare the cart damage with the northern sound.
03Record an observation before the lead
Visit Broken Cart Road. Inspect A damaged road support before inspecting the damaged cart. Record the result and actual XP.
The observation is known, but the account is still waiting for the cart lead. A first discovery may give its normal discovery XP.
04Establish the cart lead
Inspect the damaged cart. Read the current Journal objective.
The next objective still requires a useful follow-up observation. The support record made earlier must not skip this step.
05Revisit the same support
Inspect A damaged road support again at Broken Cart Road. Compare inventory and XP immediately before and after this repeat.
The new personal inspection advances the follow-up. Already-known evidence gives no extra discovery XP or goods.
06Check the remaining return
Read Journal before leaving Westcut.
The account now asks you to bring the result to the depot. An older depot visit did not make it ready.
07Make the later depot visit
Travel back to Hearthwake and wait. Use Explore → Visit → Common Depot explicitly, then read Journal.
The later personal visit satisfies the return. Merely opening the map or having an older visit is insufficient.
08Return to the contact
Travel to Westcut again, wait, and visit Marra at Venn Yard. Open Finish quest and review one offered outcome.
The account is ready at its actual contact; review alone awards nothing.
09Finish and inspect the memory
Commit the selected outcome once. Record the complete result and XP change, then use Journal → Read memory twice. Read Account and Later conversation, page through Recorded steps, use Previous, and return through Open Journal.
Exactly 240 character XP is awarded for completion. Both reads retain the same full outcome and later dialogue, and saved observation/visit evidence is named in the step pages. Reading and navigation repeat no reward or material change. The menu has Account, Later conversation and Recorded steps.
