Finish a quest with its own outcome choices
Check quest-first forms, exact review and one normally earned reward.
Prerequisites: your own idle character at the contact of a ready, unfinished quest. To earn the observed A Good Handle example, visit Ropewalk in Hearthwake, accept it, inspect the offered handle evidence, then use Craft → Make a stone-tipped spear for one batch using four fallen branches and two river stones and wait for completion. Follow your actual Journal and review; do not grant items, edit a save or accelerate time.
Use the intended Vesperan application in the authorized testing channel. Record XP after earning readiness, so travel, first visits, discovery and craft XP are not mistaken for the completion reward. If only one quest is ready, the simultaneous-quest comparison below remains untested.
Step by step
Tick a step after observing the expected result. Saved on this device for this version of the steps only.
01Record readiness
Read the current Journal objective and offered outcomes. Note the selected quest, contact, location, XP, goods and other ready quests.
The chosen quest is ready at its actual contact; the record reflects normally earned progress.
02Choose the quest first
Use Journal action → Finish quest. Select the quest and Submit.
The first form contains the quest selector; it does not mix outcome choices from other quests.
03Open its outcomes
Use Continue. Read the named quest and every offered Outcome. If another quest is ready, cancel, open that other quest, and compare its choices before returning.
Each Outcome form names its selected quest and contains only that quest’s currently offered choices. Record the comparison as not run when no second quest is ready.
04Cancel one exact review
Choose an outcome, submit, and read every Next page of the final review. Cancel without Commit and compare XP and Journal.
The review identifies the quest and intended choice. Cancelling grants no completion reward and leaves the quest unfinished.
05Commit the chosen outcome once
Reopen the same quest, select the intended outcome again and read the complete review. Commit once; record the response and XP.
One completion is saved. For A Good Handle the completion itself awards exactly 160 character XP.
06Read the retained account
Open Journal → Browse entries → Completed quests and select this account. Read the full outcome; optionally use the reviewed saved-memory read.
The saved choice matches the review. Reading does not repeat the reward or change the completed account.
07Reconcile and note presentation
Refresh Journal and compare XP, goods, completed history and remaining ready quests. Record clipping, unclear labels or excessive paging at your actual window size.
The completed quest leaves current/ready lists; other accounts are preserved. Functional success does not excuse a hard-to-read receipt.
