Lantern image and native UI comparison
Try illustrated places, encounter intent and a crafting sequence in the Discord prototype.
Open the Lantern v4 · UI study launcher in the authorized testing channel. Use application 1545807738108641380 in channel 1495266080996986963. Each example uses private sample data.
Exports remain 1200 × 700 pixels. Landmark artwork represents places; local positions are proposed, regional maps preserve source routes, and the Annex is a schematic room graph. This is a visual comparison, not final artwork or a full-game rollout.
These instructions do not mark any test complete. Record the appearance and usability in your actual Discord client, including narrow and desktop layouts.
Find Lantern v4 · UI study in the testing channel, then choose Places, Encounter or Craft.
Step by step
Tick a step after observing the expected result. Saved on this device for this version of the steps only.
01Read an illustrated place
Open Places. Select East Yard, open Details and read through to the final page. Return with Map.
The selected landmark is highlighted. Oswin Kerr, the Annex entrance and the complete source description are available. Previous and Next retain their positions; returning restores the image.
02Inspect routes and discover a room
Use Routes and inspect a region. Open Annex, select the adjacent unexplored passage and use Reveal.
The diagram preserves twelve regions and twenty routes. The Annex has four rooms and three connections. Coil Gallery and its hazard type are hidden until the adjacent room is revealed.
03Inspect the encounter
Use Options to select Encounter. Compare Anchor A and Anchor B, and inspect Details.
The sweeping-strike intent is visible. Kael 84%, Neris 92% and Rowan 70% stay paired by name. The selected anchor changes; the concept illustration does not define attack range or anchor positions.
04Review and confirm a policy
Open Policy. Inspect all three groups of four rules, then Confirm.
All twelve HP thresholds and shared rule terms remain accessible. Confirm is disabled until all groups have been seen. Confirmation changes the scene to the supplied clear-lane result without running real combat.
05Check quantities and shortages
Choose Crafting through Options. Select two batches of Cook trail rations, then one batch. Read the Materials pages.
Two batches are blocked by a shortage of two Hedgeberries. The selected batch count stays visible outside the selector. One batch needs three Hedgeberries and produces two Trail rations; its reference duration is 120 seconds.
06Watch a complete crafting sequence
Start the available one-batch example, then Finish. Inspect Materials after completion. Reset and inspect a recipe with several materials.
Ready, making and done look different. The finished item remains visible. Inputs are reserved once and output is credited once; unlike material types have separate counts. The preview skips the real-time wait and never changes a real character.
07Switch presentation and recover
Use Options to compare Large text, Text view and Image view. Open a Details page, then Options and Reset. Switch between examples.
Names and values remain identifiable. Images return after text or Details views. Options remains reachable from Details, and Reset clears only the current example; other sample panels retain their state.
08Compare the actual Discord appearance
Repeat the main views in a narrow window and on desktop. Use Options to compare the previous designs.
Assess the whole message, including native captions, selectors and action rows. Record clipping, tiny labels, unclear materials or weak art direction. Mechanical checks do not establish visual acceptance.
